Protecting roots on a tight residential lot
We set TPZ fence around the dripline before the dig crew rolls in, especially on post-2000 lots where big trees sit close to grading work. After the 2007 derecho, Marc learned that one careless skid steer pass can tear up roots fast. We use rigid panels, tied corners, and clear walk-throughs so the crew stays off the root zone and the tree keeps breathing while work moves forward.
